From Marvel to Star Wars, shared-story universes are of course very much in vogue. But until recently, the Ghostbusters 'universe' was compromised of two fun comedies in the 80s with a lewd ensemble of SNL alumnus; arguably, it doesn't seem the most natural material for some grand interconnected saga. Equally, some have faith it could work.
